Zuntule Visit

Thanks to my new salvoconducto (a special permission to be able to go out ANY DAY I WANT ), I’ve been able to be a bit more involved in ministry activities lately. We packed up 18 food donation bags to be given out to different families in need this month, families that don’t benefit from the lunch program. Specifically, these bags go to our families in the mountain town of Zuntule and to senior citizens with great need living in a sector of Los Pinos.

Today, Edmy and I gladly left the city behind and headed up to Zuntule to deliver the bags there. We got to briefly catch up with each family. All of the students are staying up to date with their online assignments, despite all the challenges that go along with studying virtually in a place with almost no signal! They are all giving it their all and are not letting this year go to waste. They are also super grateful for the internet packages that the ministry sends to their phones every 15 days because that would be too big of an expense for them to afford, especially during a time when there is little to no available work.

It was a wonderful time chatting with each family, and praising God to see that the rains this year have prepared a beautiful crop of corn, beans and other vegetables which will be harvested soon and greatly help out each family’s situation. Last year due to the extreme drought, many families saw no harvest whatsoever. This year, even the first harvest will be plentiful with plenty of time to plant for the second harvest as well! Praise God for how He is providing for these families!
